The EU’s role in reducing energy dependency, promoting renewable energy, and strengthening the security and resilience of critical data and energy infrastructure. The speech also examines cooperation between Member States, common energy markets, and investments aimed at improving crisis preparedness and reinforcing the EU’s strategic autonomy.
Aura Salla is a Member of the European Parliament. Previously, she served as a Member of the Finnish Parliament, where she focused on international and EU affairs. Before entering politics, she worked as Managing Public Policy Director and Head of EU Affairs at Meta’s Brussels office. In the European Parliament, she is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE). She also serves as Rapporteur for the Digital Omnibus and for the EU’s first Defence Preparedness Simplification Package.
